What to Read
Do you have a favorite author, but you've read everything they've put out? Are there certain subjects you enjoy reading about, but aren't sure where to go next? Stop by and check out our "What to Read" binder, where we have hundreds of suggestions based on author read-alikes, awards, genres, and subjects. From circus booklists to culinary mysteries, you will be sure to find something new and interesting.

Why join a Book Discussion Group?
A Book Discussion Group offers individuals an opportunity to read and share ideas and opinions of books in a friendly, relaxed environment. It encourages participants to read different types of books that they might otherwise overlook, and it gives everyone a chance to enjoy talking about the books that are read. The Library has two groups that meet, one in the evening and an afternoon group as well. Please consider joining one of our groups and enjoy the lively exchange of ideas.

Board of Trustees Meeting
The next meeting of the Belmont Public Library Board of Trustees will be Tuesday, Dec. 13th at 6:30 p.m. The agenda includes a final review of the 2012 budget, and reports. These meetings are open to the public.

Lego Club Starting!
Saturday ~ Febrary 11, 2012 ~ 10:30 am to noon

The Belmont Public Library is happy to announce the start of our Lego club on Saturday, February 11, 2012 from 10:30 am to noon. Children ages 5-12 are encouraged to bring their imagination and build on this month’s theme: "Dragons.” The Library will provide all children with Legos to build, and finished pieces will be put on display in the Children’s room. Sign up is not required and late arrivals are always welcome.

Knitting and Crocheting at the Library

Belmont Public Library has an active knitting group. It is an informal gathering of individuals of all ages and abilities who enjoy meeting to knit/crochet, mingle, and swap yarns, patterns and stories.If you like to knit or crochet and feel that you would enjoy the company of others, please come along and join us on Thursday from 6-7pm. If you would like to learn how to knit or crochet, we will try to help you on your way. Registration is not required. For those individuals with experience, please bring your own project to work on. Anyone new to knitting or crocheting, just stop on in.

Story Times for Preschoolers and Toddlers

The Preschool Story time is held on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 with stories and snacks and simple crafts for little fingers. Children between 2 and 6 years of age are warmly invited to bring a parent/caregiver for a pleasant time with books, tales, and projects.

Sing-A-Long at the Library

Please join us for our new weekly sing-a-long in the Children's Room at the Belmont Public Library. This program is designed to help build early literacy skills through rhyming, learning new language, repetition and rhythm. The program is on Friday mornings at 10:30, all ages are welcome!

The Belmont Public Library is excited to offer audiobooks and ebooks from New Hampshire Downloadable Books!

To take advantiage of this service, patrons need to have an up to date Library card and contact the Library for password number to use as well. Instructions are available at the Library, if needed. Enjoy!!
