Bid Specifications for Belmont Public Library
(to be received by September 20, 2008)

1. Remove all loose and peeling paint. (There is a strong possibility that the existing paint layers may contain lead. All bidders shall work in accordance with state recommended guidelines for the safe removal and handling of lead based paint and waste.) Areas to be addressed as follows:

a. All exterior wood trim.

b. All windows, exterior only. (Prepare for painting, reglaze as necessary, prime and paint.)

c. All doors, exterior only.

d. All wrought iron window cages.

e. Belmont Public Library lettering above front entrance to be removed, prepared for paint, repainted and replaced.

f. Front entry light fixture to be prepared for painting and repainted.

g. Entire front entry façade (ceiling, columns, door and all trim). Ceiling shall have all loose and deteriorated coating removed prior to repainting.

2. All above areas shall be prepped for painting, primed, caulked as needed, and painted with two finish coats.

3. Rear entry roof supports to be removed and replaced with 4x4 pressure treated posts.

4. Paint to be Sherwin Williams Duration (or of comparable quality), color to be determined by the Library.
